A very special book...Written by the reknown author, Paddleford Clementine, this first edition hardcover book was printed in 1958 by Holt of New York.
This lovely story entitled "A Flower For My Mother" harkens back to Paddleford's youth in Kansas. The story is poignant and represents all those things that we admire about a good mother. Life lessons, inner strength, family ties; all can be found in this 64 page book written by a woman Time magazine named as "..the best known food editor in the United States."
Book has the original mylar jacket. The mylar has seen better days. It is scuffed, discolored and has two tears at the bound edge. On the book cover itself, there is minor discoloration along both the top and bottom edges where the mylar did not protect it. Most of the corners have a small bump.
Please note: I did not get a photo of the book w/out the mylar jacket, so the top of the book cover is NOT as dirty looking as you see in the photo. (I'll do my best to post another photo without the mylar jacket.) The original owner's name is written in pen on the first page. Interior pages are very clean, bright and without issues.
Clementine Paddleford has written for numerous magazines and published several cookbooks. Her works are highly sought after.
